Living in the city for many years and being photographers in Rome, Pix Around’s team is lucky to have been able to skim the streets of the Eternal City and is happy to share with you the best of what Rome has to offer.

With regard to each of these places, it is important to specify that they should be understood as areas of the city, each offering a rich visual identity and many different backdrops.

SPANISH STEPS, THE EPIC LOCATION

THE MOST FAMOUS LOCATION WITH THE BEST VIEW OF THE STAIRCASE

The Spanish Steps is without any doubt the most famous spot in Rome to take photographs. This can be explained by its incredible view on the Staircase but also by the grandiose and elegant atmosphere that prevails on the site.

Being such a famous location in Rome, it quickly gets crowded with tourists during the day. We advise to start shooting at the Spanish Steps early in the morning in order to have the best light and avoid selfie-sticks and crowds of people behind you.

TREVI FOUNTAIN, THE AESTHETIC LOCATION

THIS FANTASTIC FOUNTAIN AND ITS UNIQUE DESIGN OFFER AN AMAZING SPOT FOR PHOTO SHOOT

The Trevi Fountain has been made famous in particular by its appearance in many cinematographic works, including the movies “La Dolce Vita” and “C’eravamo tanto amati”. The Trevi Fountain or Fontana di Trevi tops the list of the most celebrated fountains in Rome, if not the world. An iconic symbol of the city, it’s a top free attraction (except for the coin you may want to toss in), drawing an estimated 1,200 people to the site every hour.

Pictures at Fontana di Trevi like these can only be taken in the early morning. To avoid the excessive visitors that normally crowd around the fountain during the day time.

CAMPIDOGLIO, THE INSTITUTIONAL LOCATION

BEAUTIFULLY DESIGNED BY MICHELANGELO, IS THE MASTERPIECE OF THE CAPITOLINE HILL

Since ancient times the Capitol was the most important place in Rome, initially as a place of worship and then as a center of power with the advent of the Senate during the Empire.
The buildings surrounding the Piazza del Campidoglio are evidence of the historical events and secular events associated with the city. A typical example of a photo shoot at this location begins meeting underneath the equestrian statue of Marcus Aurelius in the historical Campidoglio square. The square offers two beautiful colonnades and two different stairways where you can take wonderful photographs . From the square, one then heads to a terrace that overlooks the Imperial Forum and provides a breathtaking view of one of Rome’s most characteristic locations.

COLOSSEUM, THE MAJESTIC LOCATION

THE BIGGEST AMPHITHEATER IN THE WORLD. FAMOUS FOR ITS HISTORY AND ITS INCREDIBLE ARCHITECTURE

You cannot say you have seen Rome without seeing the Colosseum ! You won’t be able to see the interior ruins from the outside, but yes! You can see the vast majority of the Colosseum from the outside. In fact, the best views of the Colosseum are seen from the outside. Most of the best Colosseum photo spots are located outside of the Colosseum, too. The outside of the Colosseo metro station is a must-see Colosseum photo opportunity. Just down the street from Colosseo toward the Colosseum is Via Nicola Salvi.
Furthermore, while you walk down Via Nicola Salvi, you will eventually pass a cobblestone staircase. This staircase leads to the iconic Colle Oppio. Colle Oppio boasts an extremely photogenic, Instagram-famous view of the Colosseum from a higher level.

VILLA BORGHESE & PINCIO, THE SCENIC LOCATION

A SPONTANEOUS PHOTO SHOOT WITH AN INCREDIBLE VIEW OVER THE ROOFS OF ROME

If you are looking for Rome points of interest, you shouldn’t miss the Pincio Terrace, connected to Borghese gardens by a pedestrian bridge that crosses Via del Muro Torto in the narrow cleft below. Pincian Hill isn’t included among the Seven Hills of Rome, but is one of the most favorite panoramic viewpoints by the Romans.

From here, you can see the historic center and the Vatican from above. You can reach the Pincio climbing the stairs from Piazza del Popolo, at the end of Via del Corso, or walk through Villa Borghese following the signs to Pincio terrace. The Pincio park terrace has a truly one of a kind view over the city of Rome, especially for early morning or golden hour photo shoot It is also the perfect location for wedding proposals and family photo shoots.

CASTEL SANT'ANGELO & THE VATICAN,
THE GOLDEN LOCATION

A HISTORICAL MONUMENT THAT BELONGS TO THE VATICAN

A mausoleum, a fortress, a hideaway, a museum… How a castle took on such a myriad of roles throughout its lifetime remains a subject of fascination even today. Rome offers an abundance of monuments and sights rich in history, stories and legends, but Castel Sant’Angelo is one which truly encompasses the essence of the city’s transformation throughout the centuries.

It is undoubtedly the most monumental and richly decorated bridge in Rome. The most unforgettable way of approaching the castle is by walking across Ponte Sant’Angelo where you can pause and admire Bernini’s stunning white marble angel statues on either side.

AVENTINO HILL, GIARDINO DEGLI ARANCI, THE ROMANTIC LOCATION

A PARK WITH SPECTACULAR VIEWS OVER ROME

You’ll need to eat at least one more margherita pizza to get over the excitement of climbing up Aventine Hill, one of seven hills in Rome, and discovering the idyllic Orange Garden. If you’re looking for something special, surprising, magical and unique, you will find it all here in this immense park among the cool of the pine trees and the scent of orange blossom.

The design of the Orange Garden was based on a belvedere, and it was conceived as a public park with a large, open space for enjoying the spectacular view over the city. It is entirely symmetrical with a large, central avenue that opens out into a breathtaking viewpoint. It’s open all year round and it’s a wonderful place to go in the evenings for a bit of time out and relaxation away from the hustle and bustle of the city.

PANTHEON, THE IDYLLIC LOCATION

The Pantheon of Agrippa, also known as the Pantheon of Rome, is one of the masterpieces of architecture present in the Italian capital as well as being the best preserved building of ancient Rome.

Choosing to spend a time in a café during your photo session is an opportunity to take a break, to experience a typically Roman moment and to create authentic images.
